A Brief History of Whirlow Hall Farm Trust Whirlow Hall Farm Trust was founded in 1979 as an educational trust working with inner city children and young people with special needs or disabilities. Since that date, over 250,000 children have visited Whirlow on a daily or residential basis. Although priority is given to inner city children and special needs, we now have visitors from all over the UK. In addition, Whirlow delivers work programmes for young adults with learning difficulties and offers employment on Supported Placement Schemes. Society has seen many changes in the past 25 years but Whirlow's work in the field of education and special needs is just as relevant now as it was back in 1979. Are you one of the 250,000 children who has visited Whirlow Hall Farm since 1979? We would love to hear your memories of your visit so click here to send us a message. In 2005 we opened our recently renovated cruck barn which dates from as early as 1650, possibly earlier. It is now used as an educational resource centre. This is now used as a fantastic base for children to learn about farming in Victorian days.
