Whirlow Hall Farm and What We Do We provide day and residential visits for groups of children from schools and other groups. The educational programmes we offer are all linked to the national curriculum so building on what the children have already learned in class. The education team at Whirlow aim to give all visitors a hands-on experience and further understanding of a real working farm. We aim to promote the links between how people can influence the farming environment and our strong dependence on farms and where our food comes from. The team strives to provide access and opportunities for all including visitors, volunteers, colleagues and the wider community, giving everybody the chance to work and interact with the environment in a positive, safe and stimulating way. Our vision extends to giving every visitor a satisfying and memorable experience that will enhance their respect for their own surroundings. We endeavour to increase understanding about sustainability, farming and the environment as part of the Whirlow experience, educating the next generation on these increasingly important environmental issues. Over 10,000 children a year visit Whirlow and for many of the younger children on a residential visit, it is their first stay away from home.
